We are excited to introduce Julie Roberts – Thriving Without Punishments or Rewards: Inclusive approaches for home, education and community settings.

We all want to see our kids thrive—at home, in the classroom, and in the community. But traditional behaviour approaches that rely on punishments and rewards often miss the mark, especially for neurodivergent children.

This session with Julie Roberts, a formally late-identified Autistic Speech-Language Pathologist, will challenge those old models and offer inclusive, trauma-informed ways to support Autistic young people—starting with true connection.

You’ll come away with a deeper understanding of what actually gets in the way of social connection, inclusion and learning, and what we can do instead.

Because when we know better, we do better.

You’ll learn:
• Why punishments and rewards can cause harm
• How trauma affects connection for neurodivergent kids
• What the neurodiversity paradigm really means
• What the latest research tells us about communication and inclusion
• Practical ways to create safe, welcoming, and respectful environments for all young people
